Tuesday Tunes: Throwback – Wish You a Good Day

Today…today was a day. I came back to work after my Austin vacation (more on that to come) to find a new computer/monitor. And then halfway through the day, following a restart, I found out all of my passwords had been changed. Which, you know, should be whatever. I kept telling myself it didn’t matter. But man, if I didn’t take it personally.

Despite losing the ability to use CDs (deep breaths), I finally found out I could at least listen to music since I still had a headphone jack. After sifting through the new Metric (why?!?!) and my very short February playlist, I remembered The Grouch. He popped up on my iPod while I was cooking one day, and it brought me right back to high school. Briefly dating a guy named Tyler who was a few years older than me and had a motorcycle he let me ride to my job at Coldstone. He told me I was “the grouch”, which was probably true during my unnecessarily angsty teen years. Lying to my mom about where I was going when I went to a Living Legends concert (seriously, can you imagine me here?), then getting back way late and totally getting busted. Getting pushed on stage with my friend Lindsay after Living Legends asked all the ladies to get on stage. Finding out The Grouch is white. The important things.

And some days, it’s nice to remember he wishes me a good day, when I’m not having a very good one.
